About Us
SavetheNorthShore.com is a volunteer, non-profit website devoted to preserving the environment and culture of the North Shore, O'ahu, and raising awareness about the proposed expansion plans by the Turtle Bay Resort and Kuilima Resort Company.
This site was created by two web designers and surfers from San Francisco. After hearing about the legendary North Shore for years, we spent a week at the North Shore this June 2007 and fell in love with the entire area stretching from Hale'iwa to Kahuku Point. When we returned, we wondered about the "Keep the North Shore Country" bumper stickers that we had seen on a few cars. A Google search later, we found the websites,
Keep the North Shore Country and the
Defend Oahu Coalition. Both initiatives are striving to preserve the country environment of the North Shore and prevent the proposed expansion plans by Turtle Bay Resort and Kuilima Resort company.

Our hope is to raise awareness about
current situation in the North Shore, to support the work of Keep the North Shore Country and the Defend Oahu Coalition, and to provide resources for anyone to
take action.
If you believe in preserving the environment, local culture, and the unique characteristics of the world's few remote places, or if you've ever watched the ocean waves roll in on a remote beach, you'll want to
get involved.
